Education Bookings Coordinator

SALARY:                £17,648, pro rata, per annum during probation, rising to £18,038  pro rata, after passing probation (3 months)

HOURS:                  Part-time, 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, ideally 9.00-2.00pm, however work pattern is negotiable 

CONTRACT:          Fixed Term Maternity Cover Contract until end of June 2020

START DATE:       ASAP

We The Curious is an idea and a place for everyone. We’re all about asking questions, being playful and testing things out. With around 70,000 students visiting each year, our Education Bookings people play a crucial role in guiding schools and groups through the bookings process, tailoring our offer to meet their needs and ensuring they have the best visit possible.


What we can do together…

•      You will understand the schools offer inside out and be able to explain it succinctly to teachers over the telephone, confidently using computer systems, to offer them the best package for their needs

•      You will use your knowledge to promote new or additional offers and services to enhance visit experience and income opportunities

•      Using your in-depth knowledge and excellent organisational skills, you will ensure you have the right spaces, equipment and staff in place to deliver booked activities 

•      You enjoy collaborating and are effective at working with other teams to ensure that each group’s visit is the best it can be from start to finish

•      You understand the challenges that teachers face and use your passion for excellent customer service to do all you can to shape the offer to fit their needs and timescales

•      You empathise with teachers’ frustrations and know how to turn things around, solving problems effectively and keeping calm under pressure. You use feedback to enhance the offer and understand visitor needs

•      You are great at picking up new systems and will work with our CRM/ticketing systems to manage bookings and relationships in the best possible way

•      Your excellent computer skills, high levels of accuracy and data handling ensure you manage data safely and efficiently

•      You love being part of a team, support your colleagues and build strong working relationships to create an environment and culture which is supportive, open, sharing and friendly


Who are you? 

•      You are educated to minimum of Grade C at GCSE Level in English and Maths, or equivalent

•      You’ll ideally have experience of working in a customer service-based role

•      You have excellent written and verbal communication skills

•      You’re passionate about providing excellent customer service

•      You’ll ideally have experience of using CRM, ticketing and database applications, or be confident in picking up new systems easily

•      You are highly organised and able to multi task in a busy role
